
Robert H. Kohn, Esq. is Chairman and CEO of Laugh.com, the world's leading comedy record company, which he founded with comedian George Carlin. He was founder and Chairman of EMusic.com, the leading MP3 music subscription service, recently acquired by Vivendi/Universal. He also does legal consulting in the software and entertainment industries.
From October, 1996 to December, 1997, Bob was Vice President, Business Development for Pretty Good Privacy, Inc., the world's leading developer of encryption, security and privacy software used on the Internet. From March, 1987 to September, 1996, he served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and General Counsel of Borland International, Inc., one of the world’s leading developers of personal computer software. Before that he was Associate General Counsel for Candle Corporation, a developer of software for IBM mainframe computers, and Corporate Counsel for Ashton-Tate, a microcomputer software company, acquired by Borland in 1991. Prior to Ashton-Tate, he was an attorney at the law offices of Rudin & Richman in Beverly Hills, California, and worked as Associate Editor of the Entertainment Law Reporter. Bob became a member of the California Bar in 1981 after graduating from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. He is Adjunct Professor of law at Monterey College of Law where he is a professor of Corporate Law.
